Industrial View
Although Sheeler's style is realistic, his work provides a questionable and somewhat mysterious look at the industrial revolution. Students draw their own conclusion about the benefits of industrialization and illustrate them utilizing a mixed media technique.

Continuous Line
Miro's surrealistic style affords the opportunity for students to ponder the meaning of art while viewing his abstract compositions. His work inspires wildly creative and imaginative art projects and students enjoy assigning nonsensical titles to their work, as did Miro.

Line Drawing
Degas' impressionistic style serves as an example of the use of pastel highlighting and rendering techniques. His mastery of drawing and painting make him a superior example for students to model their right brain drawing exercise after.

Pointillism
Shimmering pointillist colors enhance slide of Seurat's work, which provide a unique view of Impressionism and color theory. His work inspires students to create their own pointillist works of art using crayon stippling and color layering.

Super Realism
Students explore Wyeth's super realistic style and become absorbed in the fascinating stories his paintings tell. His landscape paintings serve as inspiration for students to create their own using color layering.

Abstract Art
Mondrian's non-objective style affords students the opportunity to become art critics as they encounter his abstract compositions. A valuable lesson in balance is observed as they experiment to understand rhythm using repeated shapes.
