Iconic Art
The slide assembly program reveals the rich heritage of the diverse cultures of the Ancient Americas, pre-Columbian times. Students gain an understanding of ancient cultural iconography and use special plastic color sticks to create their own icons emphasizing the colors and styles of the Ancient Americas.

Narrative Art
Students learn the history of Native Americans through the artists who illustrated cultural and historical traditions. Modern Native American artists inspire students figurative studio work, which includes the use of signs, symbols, and colors of Native American heritage.

Color Theory
Large, brilliant images of Raffael's work provide a look at contemporary realism in America. Students explore his use of pure and fresh watercolors using pencils and images from nature as the subject matter.

Mono Print
Coinciding with African Studies week, the art of Lois Mailou Jones and the influence of ancient African art is portrayed in stimulating slides. Students recognize and explore ancient African artistic elements in a mono-print project.

Pop Art
Dazzling slides bring pop culture in America to students through the eyes of Lichtenstein. Bright colors and cartoon images inspire aesthetic discussions of Pop art still life. Students create cut-out compositions using his famous Benday dot patterns.

One Point Perspective
Slide assembly programs take students on an exciting tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous buildings-inside and out. Students gain and understanding of the role of the architect in preserving the natural environment- and of organic architecture in America. One point perspective and template drawing techniques are explored in student studio art work.
